Useful Information and Warnings about Your Ceramic Tiles

The spaces we live in carry lines that express us. By choosing ceramic coating materials, you will be in the spotlight in your living spaces for many years, and you will have made an affordable choice considering its aesthetic, hygienic, high strength and equivalent life with the structure. We would like to give you some tips for long-term and problem-free use in the form of questions and answers:

AM I CHOOSING THE RIGHT CERAMIC?

- When choosing a product, examine technical features as well as aesthetic features.

- If you are going to install the product in places with high human traffic, please review our technical specifications page. You will see explanations with examples.

- If outdoor tiling is to be done, our porcelain products should be preferred, and if floor tiles are to be laid, adhesive and waterproof, frost-resistant joint filling material suitable for these properties should be used.

- Do not install wall tiles on the ground or outdoors. - You can lay the floor tiles on the wall using suitable adhesives.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?

- Before determining your ceramic needs, you need to decide what type of flooring you will install. Diagonal? Parallel? Considering the total area, the quantity used does not change. However, depending on the type of flooring and the shape of the area to be laid, the cutting loss may be high.

- You should decide how much joint space there will be between the tiles. Generally, 2- 3 mm is preferred for small sizes, 3 mm for medium sizes and 3-4 mm for large sizes.

-We do not recommend laying ceramic applications without joints.

- It should be determined how many m2 ceramics will be used as skirting.

- Considering that it will be used for renovation purposes in the future, we recommend that you place your orders 10% more. Please note that it may not be possible to find the continuation of the product or the same color tone in the future.

- Keep the leftover product together with its packaging.

S T A C K I N G RECOMMENDATIONS

When stocking, we recommend stacking pallets of floor tiles in maximum 4 layers on top of each other and pallets of wall tiles in maximum 3 layers.

When transporting tiles freely without a pallet, be sure to tie them with rope or similar materials and fix them using angle brackets. This application will prevent the tiles from moving in the transported vehicle and prevent breakage.

The stacking direction of free-standing tiles should be as laid out by the manufacturer. Tiles should be stacked vertically. Horizontal stacking, especially of large-sized tiles, is strongly discouraged.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR WHEN I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

- Check your order in person. - Make sure that the boxes are unopened.

- Be sure to read the instructions for use on the box.

- Make sure that the color and caliber codes on the packaging are the same. Do not install products with different codes in the same place. The color tones of products produced at different times may differ. Caliber refers to the size range of the products. It is important that the same code and calibers are laid in the same area in ceramic application.

- After receiving the product, open boxes from different pallets and lay them on the floor. If feedback about our products is to be made, it should be determined at this point. Feedback from the laid products will not be accepted.

WHAT SHOULD I PAY ATTENTION TO IN THE APPLICATION?

- The application area should be sufficiently bright. - The application surface must be clean.

- The application surface must be smooth. - The ground must be saturated with water at least 24 hours in advance.

- Especially in dry and hot weather, the tiles should be moistened before laying to prevent sudden loss of moisture from the adhesive mortar.

- During the application, make sure that the arrow ( ) or logo on the back of the ceramics is laid in the same direction.

- Ceramic tiles should be laid with joints by leaving a joint gap of at least 1-2 mm by using joint increments according to their size and the intended use and physical condition of the space. Because there are changes in the volume of ceramic tiles (growth-shrinkage) in the face of temperature differences over time. In order for ceramic tiles to overcome these changes in volume harmlessly (blistering and glaze breaks at the edges), there should be a reasonable gap (joint) between them and other neighboring ceramics. In addition, in order to prevent deformation of ceramics against structural movements and moving loads (people, goods, working machinery), it is essential to lay with joints.

- The application should be made with an adhesive and joint filling material in accordance with EN 12004 standard to be selected considering the space, surface and function to be used. The joint material should be cleaned immediately after application in accordance with the instructions of the company producing the material.

- When preparing the adhesive mortar, the instructions for use on the package must be followed. - Joint gaps should be filled with joint filler material after 24 hours at the earliest.

- When preparing joint filling mortar, the instructions for use on the package must be followed.

- Our Antislip products are outdoor products only and should only be installed in wet areas such as wet floors and pool sides. Never install these products in indoor areas. - Since our glazed granite and kerajet (DigiTile / DigiPrint) productions are high strength productions, they should be cut with water ceramic cutting machines, not with normal ceramic cutting machines.

WHAT SHOULD I PAY ATTENTION TO WHEN I HAVE A MASTER TILE LAYER?

- The tiles should be evenly and harmonically spread over the surface. Joint gaps should be equal.

- There should be no bumps and pits on the laid surface.

- There should be no level differences in the form of stair steps.

- The tiles should not be broken, cracked or dislocated. - Joints should be free of cracks and dislocations.

WHAT SHOULD I PAY ATTENTION TO IN USE AND CARE?

- Cleaning equipment with abrasive properties (such as metal wire brushes) should not be used on products with glossy surfaces.

- Highly acidic cleaning materials sold in supermarkets do not damage the tile surface, but cement-based grouts do.

- Epoxy based joint sealants are resistant to acids and alkalis.

- Traces may appear on ceramic surfaces as a result of the movement of objects with metal legs. This is the mark left by corroded metal. Cleaning products containing acids can remove these stains.

- Do not drop heavy and hard objects on ceramic surfaces.

- Since decor ceramics are produced for decorative purposes, they are more sensitive than other ceramics. For this reason, both craftsmen and end users should take care during the installation, use and cleaning of gold, platinum, bronze and swarovski tiled surfaces. Only water should be used as a cleaning material, acids, bases, (bleach, ammonia cleaners, salt spirit, etc.) mechanical cleaning powders and similar abrasive chemicals should be avoided. It is not recommended to clean the surfaces with hard cleaning tools (wire, hard surface of a sponge, etc.). Avoid contact with substances with high levels of alcohol, neft, thinner and acetone. Clean and dry with a soft cloth and soapy water.
